Support Team

 

As the company’s first point of contact, this department provides all the support services needed to allow the other teams to get on with their jobs. From finance and SHEQ management systems to HR and building maintenance, this is a busy and flexible team.

 

 

Jane Blacklock – Finance/Administration Manager

  • BEng (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • MBA
  • Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology

 

Jane has 15 years experience of supporting dBA staff to allow them to concentrate on project specific activities and provide a quality product and service to the client.

With a background in electronic engineering, she has a strong academic understanding of electricity transmission and distribution and works closely with the Director on a strategic level to keep the company in a position to provide a quality product to first tier providers of the National Grid.

Lecturing in Finance and Accounting and training in day to day finance with a family company was Jane’s foundation for creating the financial systems that underpin dBA today. She uses these to provide financial information to the project managers so that they are informed in their control of the projects.

Jane is the key contact for all client communications through purchasing portals and she maintains the information to keep the clients up to date with key information such as insurance. In turn, she has since used that as the basis for an appropriate vetting and monitoring of dBA’s subcontractors and key suppliers.

 

Nick Moon – Cost Engineer

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) – Distinctions & Merits in Mech. Eng.
  • Ordinary National Diploma (OND) – Distinctions & Merits in Technology
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) – via ACostE 
  • Member of the Association of Cost Engineers (MACostE) 
  • Associate Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (AMIMechE) 

 

This is a new position to dBA in 2018. It is to budget, plan and monitor costs with a view to maximising the Company’s performance by minimising costs and maximising value, quality and profit, while performing within appropriate programmes to the satisfaction of our clients.  Active and considered management of commercial and contractual risk.

Nick is a mechanical engineer by trade who has worked as a cost engineer his whole career, so we feel that we have found the best of both worlds in him.

We hope that having Nick with us will bring us some commercial acumen, helping us to become more efficient through regular performance monitoring and feedback. Nick is going to help support us so that we can deliver not only the best product, but the best value and punctuality within our services. 

 

 

Jules Linton – Finance Administrator

 

Jules has over 20 years’ experience in administration.  She is multi-skilled and supports Jane and the project teams in all aspects of administration.  She also processes all financial documentation.  She is the glue that holds us all together!
