£1380 charity run

In March of this year, 2018, dBA’s Site manager, Darren King, ran a half marathon in aid of The Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust. Reporting to the dBA contracts team, Darren is the site-based interface between the customer and the dBA fitters, project managers and subcontractors. After losing his father in-law last August, Darren took on the challenge of running the half marathon and training rigorously to do something which for him, didn’t come easy.

“Naturally if you look at me you’ll see I’m not a runner, but I was determined to do it. This is a rare lung disease which took my father in-law from us, he was my best mate”
– Darren King

Through his training and efforts to raise money for the charity, he completed the Colchester half marathon in a fantastic 2 hours and 9 minutes and raised £1380 for the charity.

Since running the half marathon in March, Darren has continued his hard work in his father in-law’s name and has completed both the Clacton and Colchester 10km runs and is currently training to do the Great East Run in Ipswich in September

dBA fully recognises the amazing work that Darren is doing, and we are very proud to be able to say that he is our site interface and represents us.

Both Ray, one of our site engineers, and Darren are running a half marathon later this year to raise money for St Helena’s Hospice. We are so proud to support these two as they raise money for a good cause.

Good luck!
