Contracts Team

Contracts Team

Our Contracts Team is a key part of our delivery team. They are responsible for the planning, organisation and execution of the delivery of materials and plant to site, the completion of the installation programme and customer handover on site. These works are completed in mind of safety, programme and efficiency.  In addition, organisation of the site team is managed by the contracts team, and all dBA company procedures are followed to ensure product quality as well as service quality.

 Carl Roder – Engineering Director

  • Member of the Association for Project Management
  • Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology
  • Incorporated Engineer (IEng)

Joining in 2015 with previous experience as a design engineer and a project manager, Carl went on to be the Contracts Manager for dBA in over 12 projects, with an accumulative cost of £1.5million, by 2016.  Guiding the contracts team successfully, led to Carl being appointed in 2018 as a director of dBA.  A review of processes at the start of 2019 has resulted in him now taking on the role of Engineering Director, leading not only contracts but design.  Changing our procedures to assign a project team with designers and contracts working together from the offset, we are hoping to open communications and nurture a greater understanding of the products and processes in the whole team so that all stages of the contract benefit.

Steve Deighton – Project Engineer

  • BTEC HNC. Mechanical and Production Engineering
  • EITB Broad Based Training and Machining Skills
  • EITB Segments

When joining dBA, Steve had years of experience working in engineering from mechanical to structural, using both metal based and synthetic components, working to high level specifications, with timescales and costs being of a paramount importance.

Steve’s voluntary career also supports his skills as a project manager.  Having been part of the Sea Scout movement since he was eight, he is now the Principal of the Sailing Water Centre at his Scout Association and sits as management executive.

Alex Mitchell – Project Engineer

  • Mechanical Engineering (HNC) – Level 3 Mechanical Engineering (NVQ)

Joining us in October 2015, Alex came as an adaptable and innovative, qualified Mechanical Engineer with over 6 years of experience in maintaining and improving machinery and processes in a heavy engineering environment.

As a project engineer, Alex has become vital in the workings of site communications and the smooth running of fabrication.
